The Route Logbooks: 30+ Years of Living Testimony

Before online reviews were typed on glass screens, travelers poured their hearts into pocket-sized leather journals by the light of kerosene lamps. These yellowed, ink-stained pages are our most priceless heritage — proof of three decades of unwavering honesty, gentle Asian hospitality, and unforgettable backroad memories.

ERA 1The Pre-Internet Pioneers

Red Dirt Tracks, River Canoes & Kerosene Lamps (1991 – 1999)

1991 – 1999

When Vietnam opened its borders to international tourism, Đà Lạt was isolated and rugged. No paved highways to the coast, no mobile phones, and zero internet. Everything was navigated by memory and mutual human trust.

📜 Logbook Dispatches & Traveler Letters from 1991 – 1999:
March 1994[DA LAT 1994]

Đà Lạt → Lak Lake → Buôn Ma Thuột

No tarmac, only red basalt dust and Elephant Waterfall roaring in the mountain mist. Mr. Bay fixed our puncture with a patch cut from an old inner tube and shared warm rice wine with M'Nong elders under a kerosene lamp. An unforgettable Vietnam that no guidebook could ever capture.

October 1997[HAUTS PLATEAUX 1997]

November 1999[VIETNAM EXPEDITION 1999]

Central Highlands Trans-Vietnam Expedition

Back in 1999, Đà Lạt had zero internet cafes. Our guide looked at the misty mountains and smiled: 'The road is in our hearts, trust the engine and trust the mountain.' Over 25 years later, we still tell our children about these men.

ERA 2The Golden Age of Overland Trails

Opening the Ho Chi Minh Highway & Central Coast (2000 – 2009)

2000 – 2009

As Vietnam entered the new millennium, our guides linked Đà Lạt across the Annamite Range with Hội An, Huế, and the DMZ. Travelers carried early digital cameras and spread the word across hostels in Bangkok, Saigon, and London.

📜 Logbook Dispatches & Traveler Letters from 2000 – 2009:
April 2003[TRUONG SON 2003]

Đà Lạt → Kon Tum → Khâm Đức → Hội An (6 Days)

We spent 6 days crossing the Truong Son jungle. The guides knew every suspension bridge, every local noodle stall, and every tribal chief. We never touched a tourist bus once. The best decision of our 6-month Asian journey.

August 2007[KEVIN EASYRIDER 2007]

Saigon → Mũi Né → Đà Lạt (5 Days)

Kevin took care of us like younger brothers. The honesty, the humor, the incredible mountain roads, and the total lack of commercial pressure. Real human connection at its finest.

ERA 3The Northern Frontier Expansion

Conquering Mã Pí Lèng & The Dong Van Karst (2010 – 2019)

2010 – 2019

Carrying the gentle Đà Lạt philosophy north to the vertical limestone peaks of Hà Giang, Ba Bể Lake, and Bản Giốc Waterfall. Small private groups, authentic homestays, and zero party bus chaos.

📜 Logbook Dispatches & Traveler Letters from 2010 – 2019:

Hà Giang 4-Day Karst Plateau Loop

Mã Pí Lèng in the morning mist was sheer magic. Riding pillion gave me total peace of mind to film and take photos. Our guide Tung drove with surgical precision. Unmatched hospitality.

35+ Years of Preserving the Original Spirit (2020 – Present)

2020 – Present

While others industrialize with massive tour groups, we remain deliberately small, authentic, and independent. Meticulously maintained Japanese bikes, international safety gear, and the exact same honest Asian warmth from 1991.

35+ Years of Preserving the Original Spirit

Search 'Kevin Easyrider' on TripAdvisor and believe every word. In a world full of mass tourism, traveling with these men is a breath of fresh air. Pure soul, pure kindness, and the best motorcycle trip on earth.

Preserving Thirty Years of Handwritten History

We continue to photograph and digitize our physical library of traveler journals at our Đà Lạt headquarters. When you ride with Kevin and the elder brotherhood, you too will hold the leather logbook and write your own chapter into this living history.
