Day 1

Hà Giang City → Bắc Kạn Backroads → Ba Bể National Park & Lake (150 km)

Depart Hà Giang city heading east through the scenic rural backroads of Bắc Kạn. Ride through lush tropical forests and river valleys to arrive at Ba Bể Lake by late afternoon. Settle into a traditional Tay stilt homestay on the shore and enjoy a home-cooked dinner featuring fresh lake fish.

Day 2

Ba Bể Lake Boat Cruise → An Mã Temple → Puông Cave → Bảo Lạc (130 km)

Board a traditional wooden longboat to cruise across Ba Bể Lake, visiting An Mã Temple and exploring the massive limestone cavern of Puông Cave. Hop back on the bikes to ride north into the rugged frontier mountains of Bảo Lạc for an overnight stay.

Day 3

Bảo Lạc → Mèo Vạc → Mã Pí Lèng Pass → Đồng Văn Karst Plateau (75 km)

Ride from Bảo Lạc into Mèo Vạc and conquer the legendary Mã Pí Lèng Pass. Gaze down into the 800m abyss of Tu Sản Canyon and the turquoise ribbon of the Nho Quế River. Explore the historic H'Mong King's Palace before checking into your hotel in Đồng Văn Old Quarter.

Day 4

Đồng Văn → Thẩm Mã Pass → Quản Bạ Heaven's Gate → Hà Giang City (135 km)

Catch the morning sunlight sweeping across the Dong Van karst peaks. Descend through the 9 switchbacks of Thẩm Mã Pass and visit Lùng Tám linen weaving village. Stop at Quản Bạ Heaven's Gate for panoramic views of the Fairy Twin Mountains before returning to Hà Giang city.
