Day 1

Hà Giang City → Quản Bạ Heaven's Gate → Thẩm Mã Pass → Đồng Văn (145 km)

Depart Hà Giang city and climb the sweeping curves of Bắc Sum Pass. Stand at Quản Bạ Heaven's Gate overlooking the Fairy Twin Mountains. Ride through Yên Minh pine forests, conquer Thẩm Mã Pass, and visit the 100-year-old stone fortress of the H'Mong King before settling into your hotel in Đồng Văn Old Quarter.

Day 2

Đồng Văn → Mã Pí Lèng Pass → Nho Quế River → Mèo Vạc (50 km)

Conquer the legendary Mã Pí Lèng Pass with sweeping vistas into the turquoise Nho Quế River and 800m sheer cliffs of Tu Sản Canyon. Descend to the river for a boat cruise, then ride to Mèo Vạc for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional homestay.

Day 3

Mèo Vạc → Mậu Duệ Gorges → Bắc Quang → Thông Nguyên (Hoàng Su Phì) (165 km)

Leave the limestone karst plateau and ride southwest along scenic mountain roads into the lush green valleys of Hoàng Su Phì. As you enter Thông Nguyên, towering mountains give way to thousands of cascading hand-carved rice terraces. Check into an authentic Red Dao wooden stilt lodge overlooking the stepped valleys.

Trek along narrow ridge paths, meet welcoming Red Dao and Black Nùng farmers, and learn traditional mountain agricultural customs far off the typical tourist trail.

Day 5

Hoàng Su Phì → Cổng Trời Pass → Vị Xuyên → Hà Giang City (150 km)

Ride along the panoramic high ridge road of Cổng Trời Pass, enjoying final sweeping vistas of the endless terraced mountains. Descend through tea-covered foothills into Vị Xuyên and return to Hà Giang city by mid-afternoon.
